The South West faculties, invite members to attend this Wellbeing event.
Performance and comedy teacher Dr Maggie Irving creates a safe space for people to learn and practice some of the comedy tricks of the trade and understand how a dash of appropriate humour can support wellness.
Research shows that "humour can assist in improving emotional wellbeing by increasing self-efficacy, positive thinking, optimism and perceptions of control, while decreasing negative thinking, perceptions of stress, depression, anxiety and stress" (Crawford and Caltabiaono, 2011).
These monthly sessions include a dash of play and silliness, to loosen up, and easy improvisation and writing techniques to help develop your unique comedy voice and share your take on the world.
No pressure to be funny - Maggie provides plenty of advice, encouragement and support.
